Grant Thornton Netherlands strengthens its sustainability practice with the arrival of Tjeerd Krumpelman. Tjeerd becomes part of Grant Thornton's Impact House, which aims to take a leading position in sustainability and impact.

About Tjeerd Krumpelman

Over the past 24 years, Tjeerd has built an impressive track record within the financial sector, including the last 10 years as Global Head of Reporting, Regulations, and Stakeholder Management at ABN AMRO. He led a team providing advice in the field of sustainability and was responsible for integrated thinking, non-financial, and impact reporting. In addition to this role, Tjeerd continues to chair the Integrated Thinking & Strategy Group of the IFRS Foundation, is a member of the IMA Sustainable Business Management Taskforce, sits on the advisory board of the Center for Corporate Reporting, and serves as a board member of the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF).

Leading position in the transition to a sustainable society

"Tjeerd Krumpelman is a welcome addition to our sustainability practice," says CEO Marcel Blöte. "His proven track record in promoting sustainability and integrated reporting aligns seamlessly with our market position and ambitions. With his leadership qualities and insights, Tjeerd is capable of managing and challenging a complex, international stakeholder landscape. This is precisely what is needed to assist organizations in transitioning to a more sustainable and inclusive economy and society.

The urgency for future-proof business is clear. At the same time, the context for organizations is changing rapidly: new laws and regulations and standards regarding sustainability, evolving customer demands, and data requirements across a wide range of topics. Grant Thornton, through Impact House, provides practical assistance in navigating these challenges. Tjeerd's knowledge and experience further strengthen our specialized services, from strategy and purpose to measuring impact, reporting on, and being accountable for environmental, social, and economic aspects."

Role at Impact House

Impact House supports organizations with sustainability and impact strategy, measurement and reporting, as well as increasing ESG information with ‘audit readiness’. Within Impact House, Tjeerd will focus on supporting particularly large organizations in strengthening strategic thinking, promoting sustainable business practices, and utilizing reporting as a means to accelerate sustainable transition.

Tjeerd Krumpelman: “I am immensely looking forward to working with the team to ensure that companies and organizations in the Netherlands, as well as internationally, recognize the opportunities of a sustainable strategy. Grant Thornton's international network offers interesting opportunities to learn from best practices across borders and to further advance companies that lead with the right strategic approach.

I am impressed by the knowledge and drive of the Impact House team. The bar is set high, which aligns perfectly with my personal ambition. With the open culture and decisive way of working that I already experience within Grant Thornton, I am confident that together we will accelerate the necessary transition for our clients.”
