Switch by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration to a new bank as of 1 May 2026

By:
The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration will switch to a new bank as of 1 May 2026. As a result of this change, the bank account number used by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration for payments and refunds will change. Whether or not you need to make any adjustments depends on how you arrange your payments to the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.
Contents

This change is relevant for entrepreneurs, organisations and private individuals who make payments themselves or who have payment instructions recorded in their administration or banking environment. Below you can read in which situations action is required and when it is not.

When do you not need to take any action?

You do not need to take any action if you:

  • pay via iDEAL | Wero;
  • pay via direct debit.

In these cases, the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration will automatically update the bank account number. You therefore do not need to change your payment settings.

When do you need to take action?

You do need to take action if you:

  • pay via internet banking;
  • use paper transfers;
  • have set up a periodic transfer, for example for provisional assessments or payment arrangements.

In these situations, it is important that you use the new bank account number as soon as it is stated on the payment information you receive from the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, such as on an assessment or payment notice.

New bank account number

The new bank account number of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration as of 1 May 2026 is:

NL04 RABO 0200 1122 44

Check in good time whether this bank account number has been correctly processed in your banking environment and administrative systems, so that payments can continue without interruption.

Transfer from a foreign bank account

Do you make a transfer from a foreign bank account and are you required to provide a BIC? From 1 May 2026, the following BIC will apply:

RABONL2U

If you need an 11-character BIC, use:

RABONL2UXXX

Payments after 1 May 2026 via the old bank account number

Do you still make a payment to the old bank account number of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration after 1 May 2026? In that case, the payment will still be processed. However, the advice remains to switch to the new bank account number as soon as possible to prevent errors or delays.
