Leon Besjes is Senior Manager in the Amsterdam International Tax Services team.

Leon studied fiscal economics at Maastricht university.

As part of the International Tax Services team of Grant Thornton, Leon is specialized in corporate tax advisory and tax compliance. Leon gained much experience in assisting companies from abroad to establish in the Netherlands. He has over 18 years of experience in international tax planning and structuring for cross-border business transactions.

Leon has advised on the following range of subjects:
• Tax compliance and advice;
• Tax audit support in international cross-border matters;
• Projects such as international joint ventures, acquisitions, restructurings and reorganizations.

Leon serves a broad variety of international companies that are active in or through the Netherlands for a large variety of clients in different industries, including logistics, finance, data centers and infrastructure. A specific speciality of Leon is the real estate sector, for which he is a contact person for the Netherlands in the European GT Real Estate & Construction group together with Amsterdam partner in International Tax Services team Onno Backx.
