Cas began his career at ABN AMRO, where he started as a sector analyst and then developed into a data analyst and data scientist. This combination of sector knowledge and technical depth forms the foundation of his work. He is now an entrepreneur and founder of CribConnects, an Amsterdam-based AI consultancy and training organisation. In addition, he is affiliated as an advisor to CPI, a Grant Thornton Netherlands company, where he supports organisations in the responsible and effective application of AI.
In his current role, Cas takes on a variety of responsibilities, ranging from executive coach and chief AI officer to program lead AI. He guides organisations through complete AI journeys, from strategy and governance to the practical implementation of solutions such as RAG systems, agents, and automation. In doing so, he combines technical expertise with a strong focus on people and organisations, driven by the conviction that AI adoption must be people-oriented and ethically sound. His approach translates complex subject matter into concrete, workable steps.
Besides his consultancy work, Cas enjoys sharing his knowledge. He lectures on Data and AI at VU Amsterdam and writes on the intersection of geopolitics and technology for Het Financieele Dagblad and de Volkskrant. In his training sessions and presentations, he translates AI insights into practical tools for boards, management, and professionals.
