Faisal, Partner International Tax Services, has been with Grant Thornton since the very start of his professional career. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Fiscal Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam, he obtained his Master’s degree in Fiscal Economics from Tilburg University in 2014. In 2015, he joined Grant Thornton and has since grown into a trusted adviser and a key member of both the ITS department in Rotterdam and his (international) client base.
He has extensive experience with complex international tax matters and advises on topics such as the participation exemption, withholding tax exemption, dividend tax, financing structures, ATAD 2, and the coordination of compliance projects. His client portfolio is diverse and ranges from companies in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries to those in financial services. Faisal is known for combining in-depth technical knowledge with a practical and solution-oriented approach.
Alongside his advisory work, Faisal applies his technical skills to optimise internal tax processes. He develops and implements tools to automate compliance activities himself. One example is the ATAD 2 tool he introduced within Grant Thornton, which ensures faster and more efficient handling of complex analyses. With his blend of technical expertise, technological innovation, and long-standing client relationships, Faisal makes a valuable contribution every day to the success of both his clients and the firm.
