Géraldine Grünberg-Otto is Partner and Head of Legal Services | Financial Services at Grant Thornton Netherlands. At an international level, she co-leads the Legal Services practice within Grant Thornton International Ltd (GTIL). In the Netherlands, she works closely with the Legal Services team leads to shape and drive the further development of the legal practice. Her primary focus is on the financial services sector, where she is one of the key driving forces behind Grant Thornton Netherlands’ Financial Services industry group.
Before joining Grant Thornton, Géraldine held several senior legal positions within internationally operating organisations in sectors such as maritime, private equity, and sustainable energy. She worked as General Counsel and corporate lawyer, and served on various (advisory) boards. She led major legal projects including IPOs, private placements, large-scale international financing transactions (both corporate and project finance), and investment structures. In addition, she has extensive experience in international compliance matters such as anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC) requirements, and the drafting and management of complex financial documentation in line with LMA standards.
Géraldine is known for her results-driven and hands-on approach. She is analytically strong, strategically minded, and able to translate complex legal issues into practical, workable solutions. Her way of working is characterised by a strong focus on collaboration, connection, and impact. With a natural commercial instinct and a keen sense of organisational strategy, she seamlessly integrates legal expertise with business development and operational reality.
