Mariëlle van den Akker works as an accountant and consultant for (family) businesses in small and medium-sized enterprises. Her client portfolio is very diverse and includes construction companies, manufacturing companies, transport companies, financial service providers, real estate companies, etc.

In her role as SME advisor, she advises her clients on a variety of advisory issues in the field of external reporting, restructuring, business succession and other tax and legal issues. From the Groene Hart location (Alphen aan den Rijn/Gouda) she does this together with her colleagues from the various disciplines within Grant Thornton.

Mariëlle is also part of the family business knowledge group within Grant Thornton. Doing business within a family business can be challenging, as family and business are intertwined. She therefore enjoys assisting entrepreneurs when it comes to their business, property and family interests.

After studying Business Economics, Mariëlle completed her training as an AA accountant. Mariëlle has been associated with Grant Thornton since 2003.
