Jacob Mook is Head of tax and Service line leader specialist tax at Grant Thornton Netherlands and specialised in international tax issues such as mergers and acquisitions.
Jacob studied fiscal law at the University of Leiden. In 1986 he graduated and started his career with the Tax Authorities where he was a Tax Inspector for corporate income tax.
In 1994 Jacob started at Grant Thornton in Gouda as a tax manager, where he became Partner in 1996. In 1997 Jacob became Managing Partner of the Gouda office. From July 2006 until December 2014 Jacob has been a member of the statutory board of directors. Recently, he became Head of Tax and Business Line Leader Specialist Tax.
From 2004 until 2007 Jacob has been a member of the European Tax Advisory Committee of Grant Thornton International. Since 2006 Jacob is member of the Tax Advisory Committee of Grant Thornton International.
Jacob mainly practices international tax, corporate income tax and tax technology.
Jacob’s portfolio includes a wide range of different businesses such as fishing industry, chemical industry and real estate.
Professional affiliations and memberships
Jacob has been member of one of the leading committees for the Dutch Association of Tax Advisors (Nederlandse Orde voor Belastingadviseurs; NOB). Since June 2017 he is member of the board of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisors (Nederlandse Orde voor Belastingadviseurs; NOB). In his portfolio he is responsible for Horizontal Monitoring and medium-sized firms.
